What is the Contest?

Send us your GPU Impossible ideas for an opportunity to win the prize listed below. (For this contest, contest participants may assume a GPU cluster size that they deem is accessible for their own organization.) Cerebras will select three winning ideas from the entries submitted.

What is the Prize?

  1. An opportunity to test the winning idea on a CS-2;
  2. Cash prize – $100 dollar gift card; and
  3. An interview in an upcoming Cerebras developer community meeting.

Contest Rules and Conditions


1. Introduction: These contest rules and conditions (“Rules”) apply to the GPU Impossible Idea contest promoted on and run through Cerebras Systems Inc.’s (“Cerebras”) website, email campaigns, and social media channels (“Contest”).

2. Eligibility: The Contest is open only to those who enter as directed on our website, email campaign, or social media channels, and who are 18 years of age or older as of the date of entry. The Contest is only open to legal residents of the 50 United States and D.C. and is void where prohibited by law. Employees of Cerebras, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, (collectively the “Employees”), and their immediate family and household members are not eligible to participate in the Contest. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. No purchase necessary to enter or win.

3. Agreement to Rules: By entering the Contest, the contestant (“You”) agrees to be bound by these Rules, and You represent that You meet the eligibility requirements to enter and participate in the Contest. In addition, You agree to accept the decisions of Cerebras as final and binding in all matters relating to the Contest.

4. Contest Period: The Contest begins on November 13, 2022 at 9:00a.m. (PST) and ends on November 18, 2022 at 5:00p.m. (PST). No entries will be accepted before or after this period.

5. How to Enter: Go to https://www.cerebras.net/developers/gpu-impossible-idea-contest/ and follow the on-screen Contest entry instructions to submit your GPU Impossible Idea (the “Idea”). You may also enter the Contest by submitting an entry form with your Idea, in person, at the Cerebras exhibit booth at The International Conference for High Performance Computing, Networking, Storage, and Analysis taking place in Dallas, Texas November 13-18, 2022. Your entry must fulfill all Contest requirements, as specified, to be eligible to win a prize. You can enter as many times as you like provided each entry is unique and is submitted separately in accordance with these Rules. Use of any robotic, automatic, programmed, or similar entry method will void all entries and result in disqualification. You may not enter by using multiple email addresses, identities, or devices in an attempt to circumvent the Rules. By entering the Contest, You represent and warrant (i) that you own the content submitted and it is an original work of authorship, and (ii) it does not violate the rights of any third parties. Cerebras reserves the right in its sole and absolute discretion to disqualify any entry.

6. Prizes: Each of the three (3) winners of the Contest (each, a “Winner”, and together the “Winners”) will receive the prize(s) stated on the Cerebras website, email campaign, or social media channels. Actual/appraised value may differ at time of prize award. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for cash or any other form of consideration. Any prize-related expenses, including without limitation any taxes, are the sole responsibility of each Winner. Total cash prize pool (consisting of three (3) $100 gift cards) is $300.

7. Odds: The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received and the sole judgment and discretion of Cerebras.

8. Winner Selection and Notification: Three (3) Winners will be selected for their Idea(s) by or under the supervision of, Cerebras representatives by November 30, 2022. Winners will be notified by email within five (5) days following selection of Winners. To claim the prize(s), each Winner must follow the instructions set out in the winning notification message we send to such Winner. This includes providing verification information regarding Winner’s entry, if requested by us. Cerebras shall have no liability for a Winner’s failure to receive notices due to spam, junk e-mail or other security settings or for Winner’s provision of incorrect or non-functioning contact information. If a Winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, fails to claim the prize within 14 days from the time award notification was sent, or fails to timely return a completed and executed declaration and release as required, the prize may be forfeited and an alternate Winner selected. Receipt by a Winner of the prize offered in this Contest is conditioned upon compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. ANY VIOLATION OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES BY A WINNER (AT CEREBRAS SOLE DISCRETION) WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION AS A WINNER OF THE CONTEST.

9. Prize Delivery: If a Winner complies with these Rules, we will deliver the cash portion of the prize (i.e. the $100 gift card) within 28 days of our verification of such compliance, to the address provided by You via the verification process. The other portions of the prize will be delivered at a time, and in a manner to be mutually agreed between You and Cerebras.

10. Rights Granted by You: By entering this Contest and submitting any content, You agree that Cerebras, anyone acting on its behalf, and its licensees, successors, and assigns, shall have the right, where permitted by law, to print, publish, broadcast, distribute, commercialize, exploit and use in any manner or media, in perpetuity and throughout the World, without limitation, your entry, name, portrait, picture, voice, likeness, image, statements about the Contest, and biographical information for news, publicity, information, trade, advertising, public relations, product development and promotional purposes. without any further compensation, notice, review, or consent. By submitting your entry, You hereby grant Cerebras a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, nocharge, royalty-free, irrevocable license to use, reproduce, prepare derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, sublicense, commercialize, exploit and distribute your entry and all content therein, including, for the avoidance of doubt, the Idea that you submit to the Contest. If your Idea or other content of your entry is not your own original content and/or infringes upon the intellectual property right of another, You will be disqualified at the sole discretion of Cerebras. If your Idea or other content of your entry is claimed to constitute infringement of the intellectual property or other rights of any third party, You shall, at your sole expense, defend against or settle such claims. You shall indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Cerebras from and against any suit, proceeding, claims, liability, loss, damage, costs or expense, which Cerebras may incur, suffer, or be required to pay arising out of such infringement or suspected infringement of any third party’s right. Nothing herein, nor in any Contest entry, shall amend, negate or waive any obligation or agreement previously existing or entered into between You and Cerebras.

11. Termination of Contest: Cerebras reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest should any cause beyond Cerebras’s control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, or proper conduct of the Contest. In such case, Cerebras may select the Winner from all eligible entries received prior to and/or after (if appropriate) the action taken by Cerebras. Cerebras reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or website or violates these Terms & Conditions. Any attempt by an entrant to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil laws. In such event, Cerebras reserves the right to seek damages to the fullest extent permitted by law.

12. Limitation of Liability: Cerebras and its Employees (together “Releasees”), disclaim and will not be liable for, and You agree to release Releasees from, any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense, damage, personal injury or death which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence or misconduct) in connection with this Contest or accepting or using a prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (in which case that liability is limited to the maximum extent allowable by law). Releasees will not be liable for any damage to or delay in transit of prizes. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

13. Disputes: Cerebras’s decisions in connection with the Contest are final. THIS CONTEST IS GOVERNED BY THE LAWS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND CALIFORNIA, WITHOUT RESPECT TO CONFLICT OF LAW DOCTRINES. As a condition of participating in this Contest, You agree that any and all disputes that cannot be resolved between the parties, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, exclusively before a court located in CALIFORNIA having jurisdiction.

14. Privacy Policy: Cerebras will collect personal information in order to conduct the Contest and may disclose such information to third parties (including agents, contractors, service providers and prize suppliers) for that purpose.
